A Warm, Rainy Winter Day

After a bout of temperatures in the teens, we suddenly got hit by, first freezing rain, then by a rainy day with temperatures in the upper-50s. Talk about a crazy day in the middle of winter!

Yes, there really is something different with the climate...

Anyway, I took some photos while there was a strong shower. A different kind of beauty arises when Downtown Chicago experiences some rain. These are some of the photos...

Yes, pink boots can't hurt. And the rain shouldn't discourage you from doing your shopping. :)

Snow Days Chicago 2013

It may be winter in Chicago but that doesn't mean that outdoor activities need to stop. And one of my favorite outdoor activities during winter is the Snow Days at the Navy Pier. It was also very nice to spend some time outdoors considering that, just a few days prior, we've had daytime temperatures in the teens and night time temperatures in the single digits; during the Snow Days, the temperatures were at a "warm" 32F.

These are some of the photos that I took last January 26...

The wife and I met some friends also. We had a great time spending time walking around admiring the beautiful sculptures.

And when nighttime came, the ice sculptures were lit making the displays beautifully surreal.

I am looking forward to the next Snow Days at the Navy Pier, but, there are still a lot more things to do before this winter is over. And summer cannot be too far behind... :)
