Frozen Pier...

No, this is not at the Arctic. This is at the Navy Pier. (Though when we had single-digits nighttime temperatures, it surely felt like it.)

This is the second Chicago winter for the wife and I but this is the first time that I've seen the frozen waters that surrounded the pier. It was a sight to behold...

There is a winter storm going on while I write this, and I am already looking forward to spring and warmer weather, but winter brings a different kind of feeling and beauty that only this season can. I love it. :)

Neighborhoods of the World at Navy Pier - Chinese Celebration

One of the things that I love about Navy Pier is that there is always something to do. At winter time, it is a perfect sanctuary from the harsh winters of Chicago, or a way to cool down, pass the time off, during the summer time.

I'd be afraid to take pictures if the lion is looking at me like that...
A head-banging lion!
Now, I missed the Chinese New Year parade at Chinatown because the wife and I had a previous engagement. So, I told myself that I will not miss the Chinese Celebration at Navy Pier. It also gave me a perfect opportunity to try out a new lens.

These are my photos of the event.
