Artistic Portraiture Using the Canon Powershot G12

My teacher in the photography class I'm currently enrolled in sort-of required us to make self-portraits. But, I don't want to be the subject of my own photography, or anyone else's for that matter. So, I decided to do something different.

Not wanting to be the main subject of the photo, I opted for something more artistic. Hence, the title of this post.

I set my Canon Powershot G12 on Aperture Priority Mode and set the aperture to f/5.6. The resulting shutter speed was 1.0s. ISO setting is at 100. I then set the built-in flash on second curtain sync and since the camera was initially very close to my face, I used a flash exposure compensation of -1. I then added the blue tone in Adobe Lightroom.
